Obituary
KARSEBOOM - George Karseboom, age 79, of Wyoming, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with illness. He will always be remembered as a kind, loving husband, father, and brother. He was a graduate of Wyoming Park High and retired from the Grand Rapids Press. He always had a good joke to share, enjoyed watching baseball and the birds at the feeder. In his earlier days he had a habit of collecting speeding tickets. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Lou; son, Scott King and wife, Anne; sister-in-law, Phyllis Karseboom; nephew, Steve Karseboom and wife, Jane; great nephew, Brian Karseboom; and many very dear friends and family. George was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Karseboom and sister, Mary Karseboom. The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville (East Building) with Pastor Kent Walters officiating. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville (West Building). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Mel Trotter Ministries, Kent County Humane Society, or Rose Garden Assisted Living. George was a special person who will be missed dearly. The world is a darker place without him. The family will join with family and friends at George's favorite restaurant, Rainbow Grill, following the service. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookfuneralservices.com. Cook Funeral and Cremation Services
