Peggy S. Jones

OBITUARY:

Peggy S. Jones, 74, died March 8, 2010. Peggy was born December 17, 1935 in Portageville, Missouri, to Alfred and Inez (Ingold) Cross. She worked as a nurse's assistant for many years at various locations, but mainly at the Battle Creek Veteran's Affairs Hospital, where she retired from. Peggy's first love was her family, and loved to attend family gatherings. She also loved to read and play her hand-held Yahtzee game. Peggy is survived by her three children, Larry Jones, Pamela (Tanas) Geleff, and Angela (William) Loyd; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alfreeda Cross and Linda (Bun) Guilfoyle; one brother, Bobby Cross; and many nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, and her former husband, Larry E. Jones. A graveside service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2010 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1490 E. Michigan Ave., Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family requests the Salvation Army be considered for memorial contributions in honor of Peggy. Arrangements by the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home.
