Ernest Hallberg

HALLBERG - Ernest A. and Phyllis R. Ernie passed away on December 7th at the age of 78. Phyllis passed away on December 8th at the age of 77. They were married May 21, 1951 in Ludington, MI, where both of them were born. They are survived by six children, Julie (Mark) Blocher, Jean (Dan) Baker, Jerry (Joan) Hallberg, Jimmy (Lynette) Hallberg, Joni Hallberg and Jason (Amy) Hallberg; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. They were preceded in death by their son, Jayme. Ernie is also survived by his two sisters, Marietta (Joe) Knebl and Helen (Charlie) Hartung and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard, and his sister, Millie. Phyllis is also survived by her sister, Irene (Dave) Grachek and her brother, Jerry (Eldean) Jankowski and many nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation for family and friends at Memorial Alternatives in Grand Rapids, MI on Friday, December 11th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a celebration of their life at St. Stanislaus Aid Society (Little Hall), 823 Michigan NE in Grand Rapids on Saturday, December 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Donations can be made to the American Red Cross, The Laurels of Hudsonville, or Senior Meals on Wheels.
