Gerald "Jerry" Buikema

BUIKEMA - Gerard "Jerry" Buikema, age 92, of Grandville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 6, 2009. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during WWII. He was preceded in death by his first born son, Thomas Buikema. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 67 years, Beatrice; his children, Marcia and Cornelius Huizinga, Kathleen and Sherwood Dusterwinkle, Edward and Debra Buikema; grandchildren, Paul and DeAnna Huizinga, Daniel and Rossina Huizinga, Beth and Paul Hwang, Sara Huizinga, Timothy and Courtney Dusterwinkle, Tamara and David Houseman, Michelle and Kyle DeHaan, Thomas Buikema, Jane and Drew Coppess, Benjamin Buikema; seven great grandchildren; brother, Robert and Marilyn Buikema; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. with Rev. Mark Bennink officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Back to God Hour or Spectrum Health Hospice.
