Russell Pingree

Died early Sunday morning, January 9, 2005. Russell was born on January 22, 1926 in Monmouth, ME, the son of Arthur and Helen (Flanders) Pingree. On October 10, 1948 he married Eleanor Chisholm, who survives him. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Sebastian, FL and attended St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in Portage. Russell had been a volunteer at Indian River North County Library for several years. He and Eleanor lived most of the lives in New England and had lived in Florida for 12 years before moving to Portage last year. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers. Besides his wife, Russell is survived by children, John (Mary Ann) Pingree of Jefferson Twp, NJ, Patricia (Richard) Whitfield of Mattawan, Stephen (Maureen) Pingree of Coventry, CT, Thomas (Barbara) Pingree of Fairport, NY; 6 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 5 sisters; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Home, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with the Rev. Fr. Kevin Covert presiding. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
