Eileen Platte

PLATTE - Eileen Agnes Platte, 82, of Grand Rapids, passed away October 25, 2009 at Heartland Health Care. She was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes C. Young and her father, Baldus Edward Young. She is survived by her children, Dennis Platte, Rosanne Nelson, and Rebecca and Robert Ayer; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and her brothers, Don (Sharon) Young, and Edward (Lucy) Young; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Eileen was raised near Wayland, and graduated from Nazareth Academy in Kalamazoo. She then moved to Grand Rapids, where she worked at A&P and Michigan Bell Telephone. After raising a family, she enjoyed working at Davenport College and the Kent County Airport. She retired to Clearwater, FL before returning to Grand Rapids recently. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Caledonia, MI on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Contributions can be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.
