ABBASSE - Ahmed S. Abbasse, aged 78, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Mr. Abbasse was Sergeant 1st Class in the 180th Transport Division of the Army Reserves. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy; brothers, Saide and Alley; sisters, Hattie, Velvet, Nellie, Allet and Katherine. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Helen; children, Kevin (Linda) Abbasse and their children, Jamie and Joshua, Christopher Abbasse (Bethany Chaney), Darin (Dana) Abbasse and their children, Kirstyn and Claire; brother, Toffie (Betty) Abbasse; sisters, Bessma Richardson, Selma (Harry) Obermeyer; mother-in-law, Dorothy Ash; brother-in-law, James Ash; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7th in the Ofield Funeral Home Chapel. Iman Mohammed Mardini officiating. Interment Fairplanes Cemetery. Memorials to Spectrum Health Foundation, c/o Cardiovascular Excellence Fund will be appreciated.
