Avis Boonstra

BOONSTRA - Avis Jean Boonstra, aged 87, of Wyoming, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2009. Avis was an active member of Home Acres Reformed Church for over 50 years and enjoyed attending Sandy Pines Chapel in the summertime. She was very active and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She volunteered for the Kids Hope Mentoring Program and also the 1st grade class at West Kelloggsville Elementary. Avis was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Boonstra and brother, Wayne Boerman. She is survived by her children, Larry (Pat) Boonstra, Linda McReynolds, Gail (Mark) Martis, Karen (Larry) Ezinga; grandchildren, Tyler and Bryce Boonstra, Amber, Nathan, and Joel McReynolds, Hannah (Caleb) Andrus, Ross and Olivia Ezinga; brother, Clyde Boerman; brothers-in-law, Gerrit (Norma) Boonstra, Don (Dorothy) VanderTil; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Avis will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Pastor Darrell Dalman officiating. Interment Kent Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mel Trotter Ministries.
