Obituary
Alfred Apol began to experience the joy of being in God's eternal care on Thursday, November 27, 2008, after celebrating his 90th birthday on November 15, 2008. Having walked through all of life's blessings and challenges, he now stands in the glory of heaven, safe in his Father's arms. He found God's gifts and God's grace in each day, pursuing a life of faith and service. He was always on the lookout for others in need, offering them love in a way that was personally meaningful. He loved his church, music and woodworking, but most of all, he profoundly loved his family, who deeply loved him in return. Christine, the love of his life, carries on with their family of four children, Faith Apol and husband, Dan Verstraete, David Apol and wife, Marcia Elders, Lois Brouwer and husband, Jim, and Tim Apol and wife, Twila. He leaves two brothers and their wives, Harold and Lou and Ike and Alice Apol, along with sisters-in-law, Celia, Dorothy and Gracine Apol. He joins parents, John and Mary and brothers, Marvin, John, and Jay in heaven. Al had 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. "You will never be forgotten, our precious husband, dad, grandpa and devoted friend". The family will meet with relatives and friends at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr., Grandville on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held at Floral View Memorial Gardens on Monday. Please join us in celebrating his life at Fellowship Christian Reformed Church, 4375 Ivanrest SW, Grandville, for a Memorial Service on Monday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be sent to Potter's House School.
