Marion H. Babcock

Marion Helen (Hardy) Babcock, 84, of Dowling, MI, passed away quietly at her home on Tuesday evening, November 25, 2008 after a nine month illness. She was born July 18, 1924 in Vermontville, MI, the daughter of Lewis Hardy and Agnes (Dow) Hardy. Marion was a nurse for the Coldwater State Home for 30 years. She married Robert F. Babcock on October 28, 1994 in Hastings, MI. She is survived by her husband: Robert F. Babcock of Dowling, MI; son - Jay and Margie Simons of Galesburg, MI; a daughter - Linda and Jon Fruytier of Harbor Beach, MI; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three brothers: Albert and Mary Hardy of Reading, MI, Ed and Betty Hardy of Dimebox, Texas, and Charles and Alva Hardy of Madison Heights, MI; and a sister: Mildred Hardy of Battle Creek, MI. Marion was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: George Simons and Leonard Sims; four sisters and a brother; and her daughter - Mary Kay Ermel (June 9, 2007). Marion attended the Eaton County schools. She was affiliated with Christian Biblical Church of God. She and Robert enjoyed trips around southern Michigan and the Shipshewana-Amish area. She enjoyed her pets. Visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service after 10 a.m. until the service; funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tom Fletcher officiating. Private burial will follow at the Union Cemetery in Maple Grove Twp., MI. Memorial tributes may be made to Charity of one's choice.
