Phillip Wasel

Philip Wasel, age 59, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2008 at his home. Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Paulette (Ostrom); children, Christopher (Nancy) Wasel, Nicole Sluss, Kendra (John) Hillary, Mike (Joan) Spicuzza; grandchildren, Annah Hillary, Caitlin Sluss, Lydia Hillary, Jennifer Spicuzza, Destiny Duncan, Courtney Spicuzza; sister, Barbara (Martin) Helmus; two nieces and several cousins. Philip had many friends including his Iowa hunting buddies. Philip was an avid outdoorsman and hunter having just retired from General Motors. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1120 4 Mile Rd. N.E. with The Rev. Mark Peacock of St. Jude as celebrant. Relatives and friends may meet his family at The Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave., N.E. at Three Mile Rd. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to Mass at the church.
