David E. Centilli, aged 66, of Gun Lake, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. David fought a valiant struggle for over eight years with various health issues. He was a loving, giving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Centilli; his parents-in-law, Thomas C. and Mary C. Higgins; step-mother-in-law, Clara Brooks; brother-in-law, Robert L. Jones and nephew, Steven Crake. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 44 years, Pamela; daughters, Amy (Richard Rego) Centilli, Amanda (Mark) Spore; mother, Frances Jimmerson; sisters, Patricia A. Jones, Laura L. (Brian) Champion; most precious grandchildren, Lynzi M. and Hayden A. Spore; several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; also his loyal companion, Chloe. David was a member of the National Ski Patrol and a certified ski instructor and a member of Knights of Columbus Bishop Haas Council 4362. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, skiing, boating, biking, motorcycling, scuba diving but most of all being with his loving family. David was a Tool and Die Maker until ill health forced him to retire. Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of David's life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with Fr. Christian Johnston as celebrant. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to help defray medical expenses.
