Lawrence Doornbos

Lawrence Doornbos, age 90, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, August 28, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Alice Doornbos (Vander Velde); his siblings, Marvin Doornbos and Ann Austin; his step-brother, Gilbert Schepers and step-sister, Grace. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 16 years, Carol Doornbos; his daughter, Doris (Roger) Wallis; his grandchildren, Shawn Wallis, Karrie (Rob) Nagel, Kevin Wallis, Regina (Chris) Smith; his great grandchildren, Katelyn, Payton, Sydney, Haley, Christopher, Kaylen; Carol's children, Karri (Dave) Nienhuis, Cindy Malone, Ryan (Victoria) Malone; Carol's grandchildren, Kyle (Darci), Heather, Austin, Haley, Victoria, Cody, Sergi; his brother, Teanis (Donna) Doornbos; his sister-in-law, Betty Doornbos; his step-siblings, Albert (Stena) Schepers, Clara (Bill) Kuipers, Marge Schepers, Emma (Neal) Schaaf; a special cousin, Fran Sytsma; a special niece and nephew, Jay and Joan Scholten; and many other nieces and nephews. A time for relatives and friends to visit with Larry's family will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 3rd, at the Cook Funeral Home in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. S.W. (west building). Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4th, at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building).
