Leonard Bogner

Mr. Leonard Jerome Bogner, aged 77, of Walker, MI, Veteran of U.S. Air Force, passed away Monday, July 21, 2008. He was born October 9, 1930 in Carr Settlement, MI, the son of the late William and Annetta (Hackman) Bogner. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving until he was honorably discharged on March 11, 1955. He enjoyed many sports. Leonard married Rita Naomi Baker June 1, 1957 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Irons, MI. He retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company April 1987. Surviving are his wife of 51 years Rita; two daughters, Nanette (Jim) Wheeler, Jody (Harry) Szalkowski and one son, Jeffery J.; four grandchildren, Craig, Ryan, Lindsay and Mitchell; two great granddaughters; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Raymond, Arnold, Herman, Hubert, Ivan and Lawrence; three sisters, Annabelle Ferenz, Margaret DeLong, Helena Slocum. The family will receive visitors Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arsulowicz Brothers, Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd.
