Obituary
Sudie (Owen) Abel Sudie (Owen) Abel, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 21, 2008 at home. She had made her home with her niece and nephew, Joyce and Joe Trudeau, for the past three years. Sudie was born September 17, 1917 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Sudie married Elmer Abel on July 24, 1937 in Philadelphia, MS. He passed away December 9, 1999. Sudie was employed by the Battle Creek Adventist Hospital and retired in 1978. Sudie attended Andrus Street Church of God in Battle Creek. Sudie was known for her passion for helping and serving others. She touched others lives by helping people that were ill. Her kindness and thoughtfulness will forever remain the hallmarks of her life. She loved gardening and visiting with friends. Sudie will be long-remembered for her unfailing faith, ever present smile, generosity and willing spirit. Her family was the most important aspect of her life. Sudie is survived by her daughter and son, Faye (Joe) Berthiaume of Davenport, FL and Don (Sue) Abel of Colona, IL. She also leaves eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; a daughter, Hazel Harper and a son, Donald George Abel preceded her in death, as well as six sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008 at Royal Funeral Home. Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
