Obituary
Mr. Henry Bouwman of Graafschap, Michigan, age 95, went to be with his Lord on Friday evening, July 18, 2008. He passed away in his home with his children by his side.
He was born September 2, 1912 to Hendrikus and Jennie Heerspink-Bouwman at the family homestead, where he likewise raised his family of eight children. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Gertrude (Jager), infant son, Gordon Wayne, great grandson, Gerritt Schmit and son-in-law, Ted Aalderink.
He was a life-long member of Graafschap Christian Reformed Church, retired from Borden Chemical Plant as well as farmed his entire life. He was a faithful servant of his Lord and became a man of vigilant intercessory prayer for his family, church and country. He was an avid reader, enjoyed visitors and good conversation, and his Christian conviction was displayed by his often-heard lovely whistle or song.
His survivors include children, Stuart and Emily Bouwman, Greta Aalderink, Judy and Jarvis Van Klompenberg, Lloyd and Rose Bouwman, Marlene Ramirez, Terry and Darlene Bouwman all of Holland; Patty and Michael Van Bragt of Allegan, Kathy and Jeff Youngberg of Glendale, AZ. He was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren. His sister Fanny Bakker, age 99, resides in Grand Rapids.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 21, 1:00 p.m. at Graafschap Christian Reformed Church, 5973 Church St. Holland.
