Mary Catherine "Duda" Hesley

Mary Catherine (Duda) Hesley, 90, passed away Tuesday, July 15 at her residence. She was born November 25, 1917 to Mike and Frances (Kapecky) Duda. She had worked over 40 years as a Nurses Aid for St. Mary's Hospital in Mason City, Iowa. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church, owned and operated Hesley's Tackle Shop in Mason City. She had lived in Henderson, KY for eight years with her son. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George E. Hesley; two sisters, Rosie Kukal, Emma Rhea; three brothers, Louie Duda, Frank Duda, Charles Duda. She is survived by three sons, Richard "Dick" and wife, Polly Hesley of Henderson, KY, Lester "Les" and wife, Sue Hesley of Mason City, Iowa, Edgar "Ed" and wife, Frances Hesley of Grand Rapids, MI; one godchild, Beth Weber of Mason City, Iowa; one sister, Anna Opsahl of Mason City, Iowa; seven grand-children, Karen and husband, John Totton of Henderson, KY, Jeff and wife, Lori Hesley of Henderson, KY, Catherine Hesley of Grand Rapids, MI, Caroline and husband, Matt Smith of Ada, MI, Amanda and husband, Seth Walter of Middleville, MI, Larry Hesley of Clear Lake, Iowa, Rick Hesley of Clear Lake, Iowa; several great and great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 18 at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City, Iowa. Bro. Jeff Hesley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Richard Hesley, Lester Hesley, Edgar Hesley, Jeff Hesley, John Totton and Marshall Totton. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice or your favorite charity.
