Bernard "Bernie" Abrams

Bernard "Bernie" R. Abrams, aged 66, of Kentwood formerly of Cassopolis and Covert, woke up in heaven on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. He was a school administrator for the Cassopolis and Covert Public Schools. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry and George Abrams, and Mitchell Mapp. Surviving are his wife, Patricia; children, Matthew (Emily) Bouwens, Melody (Nathan) Zziwambazza, Anthony (April) Bouwens, Amy Abrams, Tiara Abrams, Lance (Norliza) Abrams, and Gerald Ross; 13 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Marilyn Flie, Charlene Williams, James (Gertrude) Abrams, John Albert Abrams, and Joseph Abrams; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Grand Rapids First in the Prayer Chapel at 2100 44th Street, S.W., with Pastor Larry French officiating. Interment in Blain Cemetery.
