Shirley J. Walter

Shirley J. Walter Battle Creek Shirley J. Walter, 73, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008 at her home. She was born April 23, 1935 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Herbert and Mary (Bussell) Brace. She married Bernard Walter on December 17, 1964 in Battle Creek and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2004. Shirley worked at Brace Nursing Home in Battle Creek. She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing cards. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. Shirley was a foster grandmother in Farwell. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Michael (Tami) Campbell of Watervliet, MI, Ronald (Kay) Campbell of Battle Creek, Mary Mancini of Port Richey, FL, Peggy Busch of Battle Creek, Debra Sisler of Battle Creek; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Brace. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Robert L. Zuhl officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to American Diabetes Association.
