Philip John Tobin, age 89, of Kentwood formerly of Maple City, MI, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior, on Friday, May 9, 2008. He was preceded in death by his son, Philip J. Tobin, great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Smith and his parents, John and Nellie Tobin of Maple City, MI. He will be dearly missed, and his memories cherished, by his loving wife of 66 years, Isabelle (Glazier); his children, Daniel (Susan) Tobin, Gene (Ann) Tobin, Thomas (Toni) Tobin, Liz (Edward) Rockinger, Connie (George) Marsh, Bonnie (Donald) Stephens, and Deborah Geiger; 21 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and his sister, Marjory Yarnaros. Phil was a former member of Wealthy Street Baptist Church and retired from General Motors, Fisher Body Plant #2, in 1984 after 34 years of dedicated services. "Death leaves heartache only God can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal". Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Cook Memorial Chapel, (east building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville, (west building).
