Harry Abel

Harry William Abel, 76, joined our Father on April 25, 2008. The "Great H.W." was born in Alameda, CA to William and Marble Joan Abel. After graduating from Acalanes High School in Lafayette, CA, he joined the US Air Force in 1950 during the Korean war. After serving his country for four years, he returned home to attend Golden Gate College and graduated in 1959. Harry met his loving wife of 50 years, Lita, while teaching ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray Studios. His professional life was spent working as a partner in the CPA firm of BDO Seidman. Harry and Lita raised their family of four children in the SF Bay area, Grand Rapids, Spokane and Los Angeles, most recently living in Flagstaff and Phoenix. He was a magnificent man, loved and respected by many. Harry is survived by his wife, Lita; children, Bill III, Dawn, Janet and David; grandchildren, Bill IV, Gabriella, Matt, Sarah, Danny, Stephanie, Chris, and Jason; daughters-in-law, Gayna, Charlotte and Heather; his sister, Joy Billman; and Chihuahua Pepe. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Chapel at 2825 W. Rose Canyon Circle, Anthem, Arizona 85086. Flowers may be sent to the St. Rose Chapel.
