Margery Evans

EVANS - Margery Brooks, aged 87, wife of Dr. Robert O. Evans, died Friday, April 11, 2008 in Lexington, Kentucky. Born in Holland, Michigan she was the daughter of the late Earnest C. Brooks and Margaret Walsh Brooks, graduated from Holland High School and attended the University of Chicago. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Holland as well as Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the vestry. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the University of Kentucky Woman's Club (past president), and the National Society of Arts and Letters, Kentucky Chapter. She loved music, traveled extensively, and lived in Finland, France, and Germany. Survivors include daughter, Michele (Bruce) Chosney, Indianapolis, IN; and son, Douglas Brooks Evans (Christine Sherley), Saudi Arabia; five grandchildren, Barbara Hathaway, Andrew Evans, Gabrielle Nabi, Brett Chosney and Craig Chosney; and three great-grandchildren, Douglas Evans, Nichelle Hathaway, and Kamillah Nabi. A son, Robert O. Evans, Jr., preceded her in death. Services 11 a.m. Friday at The Downtown Chapel Dykstra Life Story Funeral Home, 29 East 9th Street, Holland, MI.
