Remembering Norma; Bob, and their son (Doug) - all full of life; such fun, and my memories of working at the mill the same time they did, is something I won't forget.
Lots of great memories of Simpson Lee and those who worked side-by-side, to do our jobs as a team.
I was sorry to hear that Fox River bought the mill out; further that they closed the plant.
I moved away from the Vicksburg area in 1974, so have lost track of so many wonderful people.
Norma, I'm sure your hardy soul and bright spirit keeps you strong and constant and you won't falter. Diane (Rambow) - aka Diane Hinkley/Daniels. Nevada

Dearest Norma,
My heart goes out to you. I didn't know your husband; but you are such a sweet lady and I hope you find comfort in the Lord's healing grace and have the same joy in your life that you obviously have brought to many. (Christmas cookies are on me this year--you'll see why we crave yours so much). God Bless You Norman.

Uncle Bob was surely a favorite among all his nieces - as one of "Junior's girls" I recall a hug, a huge smile and swinging in his arms through the air, usually hanging upside down each and every time we met. That huge man - with the huge personality remains in my heart and my memory forever. I wish I could be there to share the memories - know that my thoughts are with you.

Uncle Bob was a big guy that tried to seem tough but he had a smile that showed his soft side. As a little girl I knew that the minute I saw that soft smile he would follow it up with a swing in the air or a hug. What wonderful memories he left me with.

I remember my Uncle Bob as a tall and big man. He'd pick me up and I thought he was the most wonderful uncle in the world. I loved to dance with him (standing on his shoes of course!). I couldn't wait to go to Grandma Butler's at Christmas time to see the relatives, especially Uncle Bob. My last memory of him was at my dad's memorial service where he gave me a big smile and said softly, "You were always my favorite." Goodbye Uncle Bob, I love you and will miss you.

Dear Norma and Family; OMG my memories of Bob go back to West Allis and Random and of all the good times we all had as kids. My deepest condolence and prayers for Bob and you all that survive. He was such a great partner and cousin. I wish I could be there but plans have now changed. He and You are in my thoughts. Bill

We would like to extend our sympathy to you and your family and we cherish the friendship we had with Bob while we lived in Vicksburg.
We remember him especially as we challenged him and his partners in "shuffleboard" several times, he never got upset when he lost (which was often) and we always kidded him over it.
He was a well liked guy and fun to be around and will be missed by all of those that knew him

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this very trying time. My teenage years with the Palmer Family while Bob enjoyed my laughter and giggles will be forever in my memory.
Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die. Love and Peace Lu

Although I have not seen Bob for many years, I remember him so well. Working at the paper mill and bowling or having few drinks at the bowling alley there in Vicksburg. Norma and Doug and the rest of the family, you have my deepest sympathy. You were very right in saying he had a wonderful heart. Always enjoyed his tormenting at the paper mill and he would take it right back from the person he tormented. That was 40 years ago. He was very respectful. Always had a smile and have a nice day. Again, you have my deepest sympathy and my thoughts are with you during this hard time.
Sincerely,
Kay (Raggio) Howell
