Bernie Kraai

Kraai, Bernith “Bernie” J. Age 83 Of Shelbyville Bernie J. Kraai, age 83 passed away April 1, 2008. Bernie was born November 1, 1924 in Shelbyville, MI. He was the son of Jacob and Gertrude (Hamstra) Kraai. He was a proud World War II veteran serving in the 163rd infantry with the United States Army. After returning from the service Bernie married Georgia Rantz on January 24, 1947. Together they started the Kraai Well Drilling in 1963, in Martin, MI. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his two sons: Richard Kraai, of Delton; Ronald (Denise) Kraai, of Shelbyville; 2 grandchildren: Chad (Jessica) Kraai; Shana (Steve) Dam; 3 great granddaughters: Mikaela, Emilia, and Kiera; two sisters: Julia Gilder and Marguerite Zumbrink. Bernie will be cremated and will have a private graveside service at a later date.
