Preston Borr

Preston Borr, 97, of Zeeland, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Easter morning, Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Hospice House of Holland.

Preston was born October 9, 1910, to Henry and Anna Borr in Herried, South Dakota. Preston worked for 35 years for General Motors before retiring. He was a member of First Reformed Church of Zeeland, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, as a member of the consistory and was a member of the Men's Brotherhood Society. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora, in 1983, and his wife, Kay, in 2004, and an infant son, Paul Kenton Borr.

He is survived by his daughters: Joyce and Gary De Witt of Holland, and Karen and Richard Genschorek of Kalamazoo, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Lisa and Jon Van Der Kolk (Nicole, Tyler, Alex, and Lucas), Rita and Rev. Christopher Pieters (Brittany, Bryce, Brynne, and Bradley), Dirk and Tracy De Witt (Quinn and Zoe), Michael and Becky King (Jonathan, Laura, and Carrie), Tara and Brian Behrman (Andrew, Kenton, and Dora), sisters-in-law, Jane and Robert Chandler of Holland, Myk and Dale Kruithof of Holland, and Violet Borr of Riverside, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at First Reformed Church, 148 E. Central, Ave., Zeeland. Visiting hours will be 4-7 pm, Tuesday, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland. Burial will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Memorials to Hospice of Holland or Camp Geneva.
