Lois (Ferguson) Machinski passed away after suffering a long illness. Lois has been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and retired from J.C. Penney in 2003. She was a member of St. Monica’s Church, Women’s Auxiliary of Comstock and the German American Club. She was united in marriage to Joseph Machinski on June 11, 1949 who survives. Preceding her in death were her parents, Phillip and Anna (Moyer) Ferguson, sisters, Virginia Olsen and Celia Hunter and one brother, Russell Ferguson. Surviving are her four children, Susan Freed of Kalamazoo, Vicki (Gary) Marr of Kalamazoo, John (Mary) Machinski of Parchment and Tisa (Dave) Harvey of Kalamazoo, grandchildren; Keith Kuilema, Janelle (Marr) Gray, Joshua Cribbs Machinski and Eric and Matt Machinski , several great-grandchildren, three sisters, Janet (Stanley) Pawlowski, Phyllis Jay and Shirley Forbes and one brother, Larry (Marge) Ferguson. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hospice Care of Southwest MI and especially to her caregivers Kathy Smith, Jackie Kimball, Carol Naugle and Terrie Smith. Due to Lois’ wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM Wednesday Jan 2 at St. Monica Catholic Church. Food and fellowship will follow at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest MI or the charity of your choice.
