Kathryn Bos

Kathryn M. Bos, age 95, of Holland-Ohio and formerly of Holland, Michigan, passed away Monday December 17, 2007 in Wolf Creek at Lutheran Village. The widow of Herman, Kathryn served as State Chaplain for the Michigan Gideon Auxiliary, served 3 terms as State Secretary of the Gideon Auxiliary of Michigan. Her whole life involved the Gideon’s. Kathryn served in the Lions Auxiliary in Holland, Michigan and she and her late husband Herman were charter members of Immanuel Baptist in Holland and she also served as Sunday School Department Superintendent for 40 years in Holland. Kathryn was an accomplished pianist and also aided her husband in their Old News Printery in Holland. Kathryn is preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Jane Bos, and is survived by her daughter Joanne (Donald) Jarrell, grandchildren Marty (Barb) Jarrell and Nancy (Jim) Shollenberger; Great-grandchildren Andrew and Stephen Jarrell and Jon and Katie Shollenberger; sisters Jean Nienhuis and Dorothy Holzimmer, numerous nieces and nephews. Kathryn ha s been a resident of Toledo since 1994. Committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Dykstra Life Story Funeral Homes-Downtown Chapel, 29 East 9th Street, with the Dr. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will Pilgrim Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund 4207 Laskey Road Toledo, Ohio 43623.
