Tena (nee: Venhuizen) Ritsema Byker, age 93, of Jenison, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September, 18, 2007. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Ritsema and her second husband, Al Byker. Surviving are her children, Grace and Stan Pikaart, Jerry and Shirley Ritsema, Frances Thornton, Chuck Ritsema; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; step children, Tena and Jim Lucas, Gerrit and Carolyn Byker, Marge and John Kuiper; 10 step grandchildren; 25 step great grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Ruggio, Evelyn and Ed Brysen; sisters-in-law, Albertha Ritsema, Pearl Griffioen; brother-in-law, Jake Pruis. Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Manor Chapel, 725 Baldwin, Jenison, with Rev. Jim Molenbeek officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday 6 to 9:00 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive and also Saturday 9 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at Sunset Manor Chapel.
