Dorothy "Dottie" Ritsema

Dorothy Mae “Dottie” Ritsema, age 91, of Holland, died Thursday, August 30, 2007, at Appledorn Living Center in Holland. Dottie was born in Grand Rapids August 10, 1916 to Robert and Ina Mae (Gardner) Horn. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, and a former member of Bethel Reformed Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Jack Ritsema, on May 5, 2006. Surviving are her children, Donna-Jean and Calvin Hirdes, of Holland, and Rev. Jack and Sandy Ritsema, of Ackley, Iowa; 6 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Henrietta Spoelma, of Jenison. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, 11:00AM, at Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Life Story Funeral Homes, 188 W. 32nd Street, Holland. Officiating will be the Revs. Don Battjes and Jack Ritsema. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, from 7-9PM, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made Hospice of Holland.
