Debra Anthony

Debra E. Anthony, age 56, of Holland, died Friday July 27, 2007, at Holland Community Hospital. She was born November 1, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert and Elaine (Johnson) Birce and moved to the Holland area as child. Debra was a 1968 graduate of Hamilton High School. She married Gerald Anthony in 1991. Debra was employed in food service by the Holland Public Schools and worked at the Jefferson Elementary School for 23 years before retiring in 2006 due to ill health. Debra enjoyed sewing Dutch costumes for family and friends, Dutch dancing, scrap booking and cooking. Debra is survived by her husband, Gerald, daughters, Ivy Daly of Zeeland, Sarah (Jason) Merfeld and Leah (Kevin) Bultman both of Holland. 8 grandchildren, her mother, Elaine Birce of Holland, sisters, Sue (Gary) Harris of Fennville, Amy (Richard) Cooke of Zeeland, Becky (Ron) Long of Hamilton, and Marcy (Jeff) Schrotenboer of Hamilton, brothers, Rob (Norma) Birce of Comstock Park, Tim (Peggy) Birce of Saugatuck. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Birce in 1986. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at the Mulder Chapel of Dykstra Life Story Funeral Home, 188 W. 32nd St. Holland. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, at the Dunningville Reformed Church, 2561 N. M-40, Allegan. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
