Georgia Lipscomb

Georgia J. Lipscomb, 89 of Battle Creek passed away Monday May 7, 2007 at Heartland Health Center. She was born on October 27, 1917 in Hot Springs, VA; to Warrick K. and Florence M. (Donovan) Burns.

Georgia married Harvey J. Lipscomb, on Jan. 24, 1937 in Parsons, WV; he preceded her in death in 1995. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, camping, traveling, and flower gardening.

Georgia is survived by daughters, Janice McGhee and Georgia Beard, both of Battle Creek, Nancy Brubaker, of Fulton, sons, Donald and Tommy Lipscomb, both of Battle Creek, a step-daughter, Hazel Conrow, of Oceanside, CA; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and a sister, Clarice Armstrong, of Staunton, VA. She was also preceded in death by son, Garfield Lipscomb, sisters, Alice Ewijk, Abbie Thurman, Mae McNickle, Mary Kuehle, and Rennie Robertson, and a brother Richard B. Burns.

Funeral service 1pm Friday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association.
