George Claver Jr.

George C. Claver Jr., age 85, of Holland, died Monday, April 30, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Wichers) in 1996. George was born in Grand Rapids to George and Mildred Claver. He was a member of Third Reformed Church and the Century Club. George graduated from Hope College in 1944 and earned his masters degree from the University of Massachusetts. He was employed and retired from Monsanto Corporation as a research chemist. George and his wife Dorothy were charter residents of Freedom Village in Holland. He is survived by his children, Robert A. and Elizabeth Claver of Candia, NH, Judith and Allen Keyes of Cheshire, CT; three grandchildren, four great-grand-children. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium at Freedom Village, with The Reverend Linda Knieriemen officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
