Patricia "Pat" B. Brown, age 83, of Kalamazoo, MI went home to be with her Lord on March 3, 2015. Patricia was born March 11, 1931, in White Plains, New York, the daughter of Gerard and Elizabeth (Perry) Bouthillet. She was a Kalamazoo area resident for over 40 years, becoming a resident of Bonita Springs, Florida, for 15 years. For the past several years, Pat and her husband had relocated back to Kalamazoo. Pat was so many things to so many people: a loving and dedicated wife; a world-class mother of seven children; a fabulous dancer; a gifted singer; and as one of her most incredible talents, she leaves as a legacy her work as an artist. Pat painted award-winning paintings and pastel works, and her artwork has been displayed and purchased nationally. She was also a member of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts (KIA) and the Bonita Springs Center for the Arts. A faithful Catholic all her life, Pat was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Portage. Pat was a very special and talented lady in many ways, but perhaps the most important part of her life was caring forand spending special times withher family. On February 6, 1954, Pat was united in marriage to Dr. Hugh J. Brown, who survives. Also surviving are their children and spouses, Kathryn Brown (Dale Posthumus), Erin Brown Conroy (Shawn Conroy), Timothy Brown (Julie Cook Brown), Thomas Brown (Tammie Brown), Meaghan Brown, and Kerrie Berends (Howard Berends); a daughter-in-law, Deborah Noble Brown; 30 grandchildren; three (plus one on the way) great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerard Bouthillet; two sisters, Geraldine Rochon and Jeannette Bouthillet; and nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Marie, Ruth and Collette; and by her son Kevin Brown in 2008. In accordance with Patricia's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, March 9, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (1150 Centre Avenue), where a Memorial Mass will be also celebrated at 11:00 AM (Monday, March 9) with Father Stanley Witek presiding. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials in Patricia's memory may be directed to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts at 314 South Park Street, in Kalamazoo.
