Sylvia I. DeMoulpied (NEE Karel) passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on March 1, 2015 at the remarkable age of 96. Sylvia was born to John & Helen (NEE Konkel) Karel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 7, 1919.

On September 25, 1943 she was united in marriage to Lorin N. DeMoulpied and was married for 41 years until his death on April 3, 1985. Sylvia worked as a care-taker for 1st Presbyterian Church in Racine for a number of years. She loved music, animals, gardening and playing cards with her friends and Dania Hall. She especially loved her pet cockapoo and best buddy Bubba.

Sylvia is survived by her son John DeMoulpied; daughter LeeAnn (Stephen) Morelli; granddaughter Lisa (Jeff) Londre; grandson Chris Djuricic; plus great-grandchildren Garret and Dillon Londre; Isabelle Djuricic; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Sylvia was preceded in death by sisters Doris and Virginia; brothers Eugene and George; and daughter-in-law Angie DeMoulpied.

A prayer service will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street, Racine on Friday March 6, 2015 at 11:00 am with Father Terrence Huebner presiding. Private interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home prior to the service from 9:30 am to the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hope Safehouse or St. Paul the Apostle Parish are suggested.
