Josephine V. Cannaday (nee Veltri) passed away on Monday, February 09, 2015 at Wheaton St. Mary’s Medical Center. Josephine was born in the Calabria region of Italy on April 5, 1920 to Gaetano and Virginia Veltri and immigrated to the United States in 1921. On June 27, 1942 she was united in marriage to Ernest M Cannaday and had two sons Dennis and Chad.

Jo spent the majority of her life in Racine, where she worked at Brandt’s Jewelry. She loved to read, travel and craft in different mediums.

Surviving Josephine is her son Dennis of Racine, her sister Lucy Veltri of Racine, sister-in-law Pauline Thompson of Friendship, WI, brother in law and sister in law Harry and Naomi Cannaday of TN, nieces and nephews, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her husband and son Chad.

A Memorial Service will be held at Marsh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Monica’s Assisted Living, Racine would be appreciated.
