Baar, Willard Jay Aged 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 25, 2015. He will be dearly missed by his loving and faithful wife of 59 years, Cornelia (Corrie) Baar; his children, Marvin Baar and Evonne Donald, Kathy (Bob) Vanderson; his grandchildren; Daniel and Abby Vanderson, Adam and Kelli Baar, Rachel and Matthew Perry, Ashley Baar and Alex Baar; great grandchildren; Landon and Nolan Perry, Fitzgerald and Zuri Vanderson, Olivia and Savannah Baar. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Baar, and sisters-in-law Betty Pikaar, Jane Murphy, Willie (Gary) Wever, brothers-in-law Mike Jansens, Wim (Dianne) Jansens and many nieces and nephews and special friends. Willard was Director of Purchasing at Blodgett Hospital for 41 years. He was a longtime member of East Leonard Christian Reformed Church. He was also a Korean War veteran. His kind and gentle manner will be missed by many. Willard's family would like to thank all the nurses from Spectrum Health Hospice for the loving and compassionate care he received in his last days. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 29, at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Zach Olson officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 28, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family requests contributions in Willard's memory be made to Spectrum Health Hospice, 4500 Breton Road SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508.
