Janet Wolf

Janet L. Wolf, age 79, of White Pigeon and Portage, MI died Sunday Jan. 18, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born in Sturgis on June 10, 1935 the daughter of the late Carl and Mamie (Bare) Roberts. Janet graduated from White Pigeon High School, received her Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University, and her Masters Degree in Education from Western Michigan University. She was a schoolteacher, retiring from Portage Public Schools. She was a former member of the Sturgis Garden Club and was a member of the Pathfinder Church in Portage. She enjoyed golf and playing cards in her spare time. Janet was married to Donald Wolf on June 30, 1957 in Three Rivers. Donald died on June 8, 2014. Janet is survived by two children, Serena Wolf and Matthew Wolf both of Scotts, MI; five grandchildren, Broderick, Shane, and Seamus Hyman, Logan and Megan Wolf; and by a sister, Jean Schrenk. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Pathfinder Church, 8740 S. Westnedge, Portage, MI 49002. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday Jan. 23, 2015 at the church with Rev. Greg Wood officiating. A private interment will take place in White Pigeon Township Cemetery. It is suggested that memorial donations be directed to the church. Arrangements were by the Farrand Funeral Home of White Pigeon.
