Doris A. Cassity-Jacobsen, age 86, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at her residence. Doris was born in Racine, August 3, 1928, daughter of the late Norbert and Yvonne (Nee: Ghysels) Remter.

In August of 1945 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Cassity. On November 14, 1993 she was united in marriage to Bruce R. Jacobsen. Doris was employed by Svendsen Brothers for twenty years, retiring from Headley’s Medical Home Care after ten years of service. She was a longtime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was actively involved in the Altar Guild, Mission Circle and Ladies Aid. An excellent cook and baker, Doris also enjoyed crafts, designing beautiful jewelry, and attending craft fairs. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce; her children, Brian (Debbie) Cassity, Nora (Jeffrey) Erlandson, all of Racine; her stepchildren, William (Suzanne) Jacobsen, John Jacobsen, Gene Jacobsen; her six grandchildren, Nick, Joe, Kelly, Lori, Tim, and Mitchell; four step-grandchildren, Danielle, J.R., Stefanie, and Brandon; 10 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Albert Quadraccia; brothers, Norbert Remter, Wayne (Carol) Remter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Quadraccia; her great-granddaughter, Addison; sister, Joyce (Thomas) Granger; and sister-in-law, Beverly Remter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 28, 2014, 11:30 A.M. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa Street, with Rev. John Roekle officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:30 A.M. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church have been suggested.
