BARLEY, JoAnn JoAnn Barley, age 78, beloved sister and mother went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 after a heroic battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 14, 1936 in Central Lake, MI to Harold and Mildred (Sinclair) Aenis who preceded her in death. Also preceding were her husband of 53 years, Raymond George Barley, and her brother, Thomas Aenis. Surviving are her children; Belinda Susan (David) Schuelke, Steven Edward (Aimee) Barley, Mary Kate (Jeff) Barley-Jenkins, grandchildren; Cassandra, Annabelle, and Mariah Schuelke, Mitchell and Rebecca Potter, Micah Scott Jenkins, her sister, Nancy Aenis, and her beloved black Labrador, Butch. For over thirty years, JoAnn was a public service employee with the US Forest Service in Cadillac, MI, and the US Attorney's Office in Grand Rapids, MI. JoAnn was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Please join her family at the church (2727 5 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, MI) on Tuesday, Nov. 25 for visitation from 1-2pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 2pm with Pastor Tom Bartzsch officiating. JoAnn's children would like to extend heartfelt thanks the 6th Floor Infusion staff from the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion for the compassionate and loving care extended to their mother.
