Surrounded by his loving family, Jerome Bernard Trandel, age 84, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at his residence. Jerome was born in Chicago, IL, November 3, 1929, son of the late Bernard and Jane (Nee: Warda) Trandel. He graduated from Gage Park High School in Chicago in June of 1943. Furthering his education he graduated from Worsham Mortuary School.

On November 24, 1955 he married the love of his life, Margaret Johnson, at St. Adrian Church in Chicago. They lived in Chicago Ridge for eight years before moving to Racine. Jerome then became employed as the Parts Marketing Manager for J.I. Case Company. Leaving Case he ventured into the Laundromat business which he owned and operated until his retirement. He was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Margaret; three children, Paul (Margaret) Trandel of Bolingbrook, IL, Karen Trandel of Racine, Kristen (Andrew) Pomeroy of Hartland, WI; four grandsons, Aaron, Benjamin, Blaise, and Ivan Pomeroy; two granddaughters, Holly (Joel) Parker of Kansas City, Missouri, and Heather Trandel of Chicago, IL; one great-grandson, Nolan Parker; two step-grandchildren, Edvinas Saulis and Lina Saulyte; sister, Joan Trandel of Berwyn, IL; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Arleen Trandel.

Jerome was a kind, loving and very special person. He always thought that everyone else was as kind as he was. He will be greatly missed by his family and close friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 27, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M.
