Chester Lee Davis, “Chet”, age 86, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. He was born In Kenosha, December 25, 1927 son of the late George and Anna (Nee: Brickner) Davis.

On November 1, 1947 at St. George Catholic Church he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dolores E. Arentz. Together they raised 5 children, Michael, Lynne, Phillip, Jodie, and Julie. Chet farmed in the Union Grove Area for over 50 years. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and was a hard worker who loved sports especially bowling and golf. Chet served on the Paris Town Board, the Ravinia School Board, Midland Co-op Board, the Farmers Grain Board and the Yorkville-Mt. Pleasant Insurance Board. Above all Chet was a wonderful husband, dad, and friend. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Dolores; 3 children, Michael (Jill) Davis of Port St. Joe, FL, Lynne (Ted) Davis of Phoenix, AZ, Jodie K. Moore of Waukesha; 4 grandchildren, Eric (Greta) Moore, Craig Moore (Ellen), Tanya (Zach) Masella, Aaron Davis (Maria); 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sue Arentz; brother-in-law, Buster Siewert; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Phillip; his daughter; Julie; sister, Helen (Les) Samuelson and brother, Wilbert (Eleanor) Davis.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 23, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the Union Grove Yorkville Rescue Squad or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church have been suggested.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful doctors and nurses who gave Chet such good care the last seven years.
