Marjorie Belanga

Marjorie Belanga, 78, of Lawton, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at home. She was born January 15, 1936 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Leo and Thelma (Yax) Cole. On August 6, 1976, she was united in marriage to Glen Belanga who preceded her in death May 9, 2012. Marjorie was employed as a bookkeeper for the Van Buren County Health Department. She is survived by three daughters, Kathy (LaMarr) Brooks, Karen DeVries and Karol (Jerry Daniels) DeBoer, all of Lawton; two step-daughters, Glenda Karian and Lisa Belanga of Grand Rapids; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Darlene (Lynn) Lohrberg of Portage; brothers-in-law, Frank Tiefenthal of Kalamazoo and Ron (Candy) Belanga; and sister-in-law, Joan (Bud) Waitas of Lawton. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward DeBoer, and a sister, Beverly Tiefentahl. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Sunday, August 3, at First Christian Church (119 N. Niles St., Paw Paw), Rev. Ron Packer officiating. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton.
