BAAS - Garvis Baas, aged 88, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 2, 2009. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jim Ballard. Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Greta; children, Lois (Ted) Crockett of Adrian, Arlene Ballard of Bath, and Jack (Barb) Baas of Rockford; granddaughters, Carmen Baas, Kelly Baas, and Melissa Ballard; sisters-in-law, June (Gerrit) Kamphouse, Irma Koetje, Jeanette DeRuiter, and Jean (Les) Tacoma; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5, at Millbrook Christian Reformed Church, 3661 Poinsettia Ave. SE, with Rev. William C. Hensen officiating. Interment in Blain Cemetery.
