JASON (CEDAR SPRINGS) Mrs. Lorraine Jason, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. She grew up in Grand Rapids and graduated from Davis Tech. Lorraine was a loving mother and grandmother. She worked for a time at Knapp & Voigt, and later at Eastern School in Grand Rapids. She loved people, and was very social. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Charles; children, Mrs. Carole VanEss of Cedar Springs, Don and Rosemary Jason of Algoma Twp., Jerry and Sue Jason of Sand Lake; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Andrew (Irene) Galas, Richard (Barb) Galas, Mrs. Eleanor Hull, Mrs. Clara Marshall, Rita (Frank) Karasiewicz, Dolores (Harry) Bukala; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter; son-in-law, Gregg VanEss, parents, Andrew and Lottie Galas; sister, Helen Klompstra and brothers, Chuck and Edwin. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Jason will be offered on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2275 Diamond, Grand Rapids with Rev. George E. Darling presiding. Interment in Fairplains Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed on Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Michigan, 989 Spaulding Ave. SE, Ada, MI 49301. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home and prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church.
