Mr. William "Bill" R. Cherry, age 42, passed away Sunday morning, May 20, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born March 4, 1965 in Muskegon to Stephen and Donna (Murphy) Cherry. When Bill was 2 years old, along with his sister and brother, became a family with Valleau Bailey, their lifetime father, when he married their mother Donna. Bill graduated from Mona Shores High School and was working toward a degree in business at Muskegon Community College where he was recognized each semester on either the Deans or Presidents list. Bill's passions in life were music, travel and spending time with his many friends. His love for people helped him to build many cherished friendships to numerous to note. Bill was always known for his fun-loving ways and his larger than life smile. There are few people, if any, that have met Bill who have not remembered his sense of humor and smile. Bill had worked at S & K Products, Lift Tech and Sappi, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was also a member of and volunteered his time at the Lakeside Veteran's Club. On June 28, 1999 he married the former Tina Flood, and she survives him along with his 3 children, Amanda, Jennifer, and William Cherry and step-son, Arik Hard all of Muskegon; granddaughter, Allison; godson Aiden; his parents, Valleau and Donna Bailey of Muskegon; father and mother-in-law, David and Carolyn Laubach of Muskegon; 1 brother, Robert Cherry of Whitehall; and 2 sisters, Stephanie (Bruce Miel) Grenell of Whitehall, and Kristi Bailey of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Cindy Flood of Harrison; brothers-in-law, David and Richard Laubach of Muskegon; nephews, Justin and Jory Grenell of Whitehall; nieces, Ashley Flood and Brooke Goudeseune of Harrison; and grandparents, Mary Stoner of Hudson and Doris Cherry of Ocala, FL.; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. SERVICES will be at 11 AM on Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis L. Lassanske officiating together with Rev. Herbert Graupner. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 and 1 hour prior to service, from 10-11 AM at the church.
