Wayne R. Schade

Wayne R. Schade, of Round Rock, TX., formerly of Kalamazoo, passed away on August 9, 2023 at the age of 83.

Wayne was the former Director of the Kalamazoo Area Math and Science Center from 1992-2003. Wayne received his B.S. from Wisconsin State University-Stevens Point, WI and his M.Ed. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas-Austin. He was involved in education his entire life including in retirement working with the National Association of Educational Progress (NAEP) and judging at local science fairs.

He is survived by hit wife of 56 years, Diane, daughter Pamela McBride (Jeff) of Round Rock, TX, son David (Casey) of Kalamazoo, MI, grandchildren Will McBride, Kendall, Everly, and Lillian Schade. He is also survived by sisters Patricia (Dennis) Bowen of Wausau, WI and Elaine (Ronald) Gosse of Abbotsford, WI along with many loving nephews, nieces and friends.
