Virginia Abbenante

ABBENANTE - Virginia, age 88, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Anthony Joseph Abbenante; and her grandson, Brian R. Norkus. She will be greatly missed by her children whom she dearly loved, Barbara (Donald) Anderson of Blue Ridge Georgia, Sandra (Robert) Norkus of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Toni (BK) Reno of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Anthony Joseph (Karen) Abbenante of New Smyrna, Florida. She was blessed in her life by her nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. While she lived in Grand Rapids she spent many hours volunteering for the DA Blodgett home, Blodgett Hospital and Grace Episcopal church. She was a woman who easily befriended people with her distinctive laugh and enjoyed playing golf and line dancing with her friends. At her request a private burial service will be held.
