Peacefully passed away with the Lord by her side while she slept at home on Monday, September 27, 2021. Vi was born December 16, 1936 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Hatrick) Vorick and was a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo and Van Buren County areas. She held a strong faith in God which guided her through life as a single mother to 6 children and when she met and married Clarence "Rich" Richardson in 1978. She worked many different places to assist in providing for her family and had many different hobbies. She was the glue that kept her family coming together often throughout the years. She attended church regularly and participated in many bible study groups. She was an avid reader, loved to watch everything Hallmark Channel, and was a busy bee, social butterfly. Strangers didn't exist in her world and she loved everyone she met. On December 16, 1978 Vi was united in marriage to Clarence E. Richardson Sr., who preceded her in death on October 2, 2004. She was also preceded in death by parents Frank and Elizabeth Vorick; her mother-in-law, Hilda Belden; her first husband, Harold Ledlow; her brothers, John and Donald Vorick; brother-in-law, Ron Kiel; and son in law, Wesley Smith. Vi is survived by her sister, Rose Kiel; brothers, James Vorick and Duane (Cheryl) Vorick; sister-In-Law Rebecca Vorick; children, Dale Ledlow, Julie Smith, Laurie Harrison, Karen Ledlow, Linda Ledlow (Dean Steinke), Trish (Bob) Strand, as well as, children by marriage Carol (Jerry) Miller, Ed Richardson, Penny (Dave) Doty. Grandchildren, Tracey Ledlow, Kevin Meskil, Robert (Maureen) Strand, Matthew Ledlow, Devon Strand, Brandon (Alyssa) Strand, Darren Strand, Debbie Harrison, Ryan Smith, Mickael Ledlow, Dan (Carol) Miller, Tom (Shelley) Miller, Mike (Jess) Miller, Heather (Paul) Hooks, Tim Richardson, Shelly Brown, Jimmy Brown, Bobby Rice; 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as, many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews. A visitation (10:00-11:00 am) and funeral service (11:00-12:00 pm) is scheduled to celebrate Vi's life on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 at Langeland Family Funeral Home, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A procession will follow taking Vi to be reunited with Rich at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, in Augusta, MI for a 1:30 pm reception for interment.
