Timothy Sackett

Timothy F. Sackett, (Bompa) 71, passed away peacefully into the arms of The Lord, Thursday, November 12, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Tim was born March 24, 1949 in Kalamazoo, to the late Herbert and Pauline (Newbury) Sackett. Tim served in the U.S. Army from July of 1969 until honorably discharged in December of 1970 and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Tim enjoyed NASCAR, Motorcross, being a Lion's fan and playing league softball for 15-20 years. He enjoyed being a Bompa most of all. Tim is survived by his children, Becky (Mark) Laughlin, Terri (Chris) Evans, Tracie (Don) Mordas, Michelle (Nathan) Pittenger and Beth Ann (Joel) Warnemuende and his best girl Princess – loyal companion; 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sharon (Jim) Williams, Tom (Carol) Sackett, Louie (Marcia) Sackett, Mike (Kathy) Sackett and Stanley (Pam) Sackett; sister-in-law, Suzanne (Gary) Muma; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Sackett. Due to the pandemic, a private visitation and service will be held. A private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family is being served by the Langeland Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, Kalamazoo.
