Timothy Charles Bernhardt

Bernhardt, Timothy Mr. Timothy Charles Bernhardt of Rockford, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 16, 2014. He was born to Wally and Francis (Stone) Bernhardt on March 31, 1965 in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. In addition to reading and writing, Tim had a passion for fitness, and spent many hours studying and teaching the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Tim served our country for 5 years in the United States Air Force followed by 22 years as a Deputy at the Kent County Sheriff's Department. Tim was known by everyone as a dedicated husband, devoted father, and loving brother and friend who loved the Lord. He will be sadly but fondly remembered by all those who knew him. Tim is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Jody; son's, Alexander (Janelle) and Nicholas; daughter's, Lauren and Jessica; brother's, Vincent (Marcella), Barry (Lisa), David (Celina); stepmother, Marcia Bernhardt; stepfather, Roger Zoodsma; and many loyal friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation will take place Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N Monroe, Rockford, MI 49341. A Memorial service for Tim will be Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at West Cannon Baptist Church, 5760 Cannonsburg Road NE, Belmont, MI 49306.
